Wildview Xtreme 3 Digital Trail Camera

The Wildview 3.1 Megapixel Digital Game Camera STC-TGL3M is still based around the Xtreme 2 but has a few more powerful features.  The scouting camera is based on a 3 megapixel digital camera.  The flash has also been upgraded to provide better night pictures at an effective range of 30 feet.  The flash can be set to auto, on, or off.  There is an external LED light indicator that provides instant feedback on battery strength and also flashes during test/countdown mode.  A four-digit counter shows the number of images taken, and each image can be stamped with the time and date. wildview xtreme 3 digital trail camera

Features:

  • Brighter 30-ft. flash
  • Vary resolution from 3.1 megapixels to 1.3 megapixels
  • Generous 32 MB internal memory with expandable SD slot
  • Three flash settings

Unit started resetting date stamp almost immediately after putting in the field. It did capture several deer and once I put a SD card in it caught some video. But within two weeks it locked up and I saw water drops behind the lens. Called wild view and lady said “ you know its not water proof!???” She did give RA # and I am returning it today. Quality of pics was good and range is about 30 ft. Video was a little less than I hoped for.

Cannot beat this camera for the money and has a much faster trigger speed than the Xtreme 2,(2 seconds versus 5 seconds). I have 8 Wildview cameras representing various models and have experienced only one issue with these cameras that was handled rapidly through cutsomer service. The 12 volt external battery pack is another atter though and is not water tight causing the battery to short and drain during periods of rain. Have had absolutely no issues with Alkaline C cell batteries which typically last two weeks .

The best thing about this trail camera is how easy it is to set up. One of the cons is the lack of security features. This is made up for in the great picture quality and fairly fast trigger speed. It will also go for a couple of weeks on one set of batteries which is a huge plus. Overall I am very pleased with this trail camera.
