Wildview 0.3 Megapixel VGA Digital Trail Camera

The Wildview VGA Digital Trail Camera is the perfect example of economical functionality.  It is the deer hunters answer to a fully capable digital game camera for under 100 bucks.  Setting the trail camera up is easy with the simple three toggle switch operation.  The first toggle switch is for ON, OFF, or test.  The second toggle switch is for the 2 choices of resolution which are low QVGA or high QVGA.  The third toggle switch controls the time delay between PIR activation which is 1, 5, 10 or 20 minutes.  The test mode makes it easy to set the game camera up and determine the aiming and coverage area.  The strobe flash is effective up to 15 feet. wildview vga digital trail camera

I've used two of these cameras for about two years and they work fine. I've not tried any other types of trail cameras so can't compare but I think they work great. I buy rechargeable 6000 mileamp C cells and they last two weeks or more depending on how cold it gets.
I've had great pictures of elk and deer and even had an elk lick the camera.
The only negative comment I have is the flash is not strong enough, I would compare it to the flick of a disposable lighter. I've never seen anything on my night pictures just black and it makes you wonder what went by? A bear, lion, coyote? Overall I like the cheap price and am mostly happy with the pictures. I use SD cards and use them to link to my computer.
Good cameras to get started in this hobby.

How freakin' rude their customer service guy was when I called today. This camera is a piece of crap, hands down. My feeder was empty, and I had no pictures at all. When I set it up, I even went so far as to use a measuring tape to make sure it was to their specs and at the proper angle. Still nothing. Not to mention, it has a "low battery" indicator... that doesn't work when the battery is low. That's according to the customer service guy. Battery life is about 9 days, so don't waste your time or money buying a memory card to go in it... it ain't gonna last long enough to fill up it's onboard memory... if you ever get it to work at all. Time delay is way too slow... around 4 seconds. DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$ on this junk.

night pictures are horrible do not buy this camera unless 99% of the picture that you take are going to be in the day light hours. If you plan on seeing game after dark then research and buy another camera because this one does not work well after dark period.

Shutter speed is EXTREMELY slow. I called the manufacturer and after they talked down to me for 5 minutes, I figured that is just the way their cameras are. I had built my own 35mm trail cam that doesn't have this huge dely, I was very surprised to see how slow the response time was. BTW I had to call the customer service department because they would not respond to my emails.

Trigger speed is slow. Flash is poor, 15 feet maxium effective range.

was easy to set up, but use where deer will remain in view for at least 15 to 20 seconds.

Got a lot of pictures will nothing useful or deer only in the eges of the photo as they walk thur.

This camera is not even worth wasting your time trying to put it out. The wife bought me one as a gift, and I have had nothing but problems out of it the entire time I have used it. Maybe one out of 20 pictures (during the daytime) has come out halfway clear. Forget about night pictures. Battery life was horrible too, as I was only getting about 60 pictures before the batteries were dead, even with good quality batteries.

For the money, you get what you pay for. I missed over 100 great pics, and had to use photoshop to bring my night pics to life due to the fact the flash did not work properly, or worked well at night. Depending where you purchase this camera which can be found for around 50 bucks at a local wal-mart it's ok for the day, but for at night, I’d look into an upscale model of a wildview camera. (Wildview Xtreme 3, or higher).

decent camera for the money, but it has a slow trigger time for moving game, but it also has a week flash at night. If you but it 10 yards from a salt lick or feed sight no problem. I say it is a good digital camera for the money.

Although it takes pictures fine if the deer stands in front of it for awhile the quality of the picture is sad. Lot of red in the pictures and night pictures are worse.

My suggestion would be step up and buy a better camera this one just doen't do it for me.

I wish the shutter speed was a little faster but I know this is an inexpensive camera so I have tolive with it. I got 541 pictures from a 1gb card and 200 were probably of either the woods or squirrels. Picture quality was as promised but too many pics of deer rumps as they walked through the frame. You get what you pay for.

This camera does the job where as you can see that there are deer working a certain area, but you cant really count the points on a buck at night.
