Moultrie Game Spy 200 Trail Camera

Moultrie Game Spy 200 3.1 Megapixel Scouting Camera provides very crisp images of deer with its 3.1 megapixel digital camera.  You will be able to choose between video clips, still images, and also have the choice of sequential, burst mode.  This will allow the camera to take 1 to 3 still images back to back during one trigger of the PIR sensor.  This setting can provide some great action trail camera pictures.  There will be no guessing in where the camera is pointing with the laser aiming guide that will tell you the exact alignment of the unit.  The Moultrie Game Spy 200 also includes the information strip on each photo.  This strip contains the current time, date, temperature, moon phase, and the location.

We had 2 Game Spy 200s in two years. We liked them both. Great concept. We used rechargeable 6volts. They seemed to last several weeks. The cameras themselves died early. The first died in warrantee time and the second died in 13 mo. Moultrie let us buy an "upgrade" for $89. the D 40. which was no upgrade at all. Its been sent in twice in 5 mo.

I bought one of these cams and loved it so much, I bought two more! The trigger is a tad slow but the other options more than makes up for it. I had it out in the field with a solar panel for 2 1/2 months on one charge during the summer, and in the fall, collected more than 500 pics every 3 days on the 1 gig sd card. It worked great! The security does need some attention, possibly an aftermarket cage that can be added. The filmstrip really does allow you to see more of what is going on.

I think the camera is great with the only exception being that some of the Moultrie cameras have had a very short motion detector range. I have three of the cameras and have friends that have several as well. Some of them are great while others have had some issues. I would buy one again, but don't hesitate to send it back to the Manufacturer should you get one that doesn't work well. They are great about sending you out a new one.

We love this camera. The only downfall is when it is cold the battery life is cut in half. Would like some suggestions on a battery that last longer.

It has many good features
with exception of the
battery life and trigger
speed. New 6 volts will
last no longer than seven
days in normal weather.

Having problems with camera at this time. Can't find instruction book to check error message 3400 from diagnostic test and do not know what that means. Should have access to instruction book on-line.

If you put this camera on the trail, I would the video setup. Still takes great pics and the videos are awesome.

The pictures this camera takes are great! The trigger speed is slow so this is not the camera to use on a trail, but on a feeder or a food plot it works great. This is simple to set up. The battery life is great as I just bought some cheap Ray O Vacs 2 for 4 bucks and they last around 24 days each straight use.

I think the camera takes awesome photos in the enhanced mode. You can view some of them mine took on huntingnet.com on the trail cam forum posted by 2footroper. If Moultrie would increase their trigger speed on this camera they would absolutely corner the market on trail cameras. This model is not one to put close to a trail where the deer are moving at a quick pace or you will miss them. I put it on a scrape by my stand and it works great.
