4.1 Outfitter Digital Scouting Camera

The 4.1 Megapixel digital Scouting Camera by Moultrie is an exclusive of Cabela’s.  It records time, date and location on every photo, so you can see what game is visiting your area on a day-by-day basis.  The flash has been improved and now has an effective range of 30 feet.  You also have the option of disabling the flash.  The laser aiming feature allows for precise camera mounting every time it's placed.  Built-in solar panel connectors ensure the longest-lasting battery on the market (Solar panel not included). All of this is secured in a Mossy Oak® Break-Up™ casing for minimal detection. Photos can be viewed using either the TV-out cable or included USB cable to your computer. Mounting cords included as well. Powered by a 6-volt battery (not included).

  • 4.1-megapixel resolution
  • Records time, date and location on every photo
  • 30-ft. flash
  • Laser aiming feature allows for precise camera mounting

very difficult to get support during opening weekend of hunting season, no works on weekends, If you forget or mess up setting up security code, you have to send the camera back no way to correct over the phone.
Generally very poor support from customer service

I own 3 of the 3.1 200 series and am happier with those. This one is not as easy to set up, has lost its memory and went into setup mode twice which cost me 2 weeks of pics each time, and is now taking black photos during daytime and night. When it did work, it took quite a bit of movement to get it to snap a pic. I may have gotten a bad one but I am very happy with my other three moultrie cams and will stick with them.

I set this camera out during the first week of August (with the optional solar panel). I didn't have to bring in for a recharge until mid October when we had very cold temps and the camera had been set up in a very thick / dark area. After re-charging and re-locating to a scrape in an area that was much more open I always had a full charge even in constant cold temps. I went through about $60.00 in batteries in my "Brand X" unit this year.
Picture quality is great and the videos are very motivating. The price and reliability is right.
I highly recommend this unit.
