Cuddeback Excite Scouting Camera

With a design focused on trigger speed, long battery life, simplicity of operation and affordability, this is the answer for hunters who desire several cameras to scout a number of locations instead of just one. EZ Mode operation lets you set up and start using your camera right away. Cuddeback Excite Game Camera compact design makes it easy to carry, and also provides easier access to the CompactFlash media storage card (not included). An intuitive LCD and keypad facilitate ease of operation in low light. Integrated night strobe flash illuminates game up to 40 ft. away. Instant Trigger Technology™ enables it to trigger up to 10 times faster than the competition. Battery Wise Technology™ enables the four D batteries to last up to six months or record up to 1,000 images with the date and time on each with a digital media card. Stores up to 20 images in internal memory without a media card. The 2.0-megapixel resolution of this custom color camera produces clear and detailed images. Integrated theft resistance features make the EXcite a difficult target for thieves, and the design hides the padlock shackle (padlock not included) so it cannot be cut off. 1. Trigger Speed-very good
    2. Picture Qkuality-all of my pictures came out great. Got pictures of a black boar hog and was able to lighten the pictures and view hog perfect.
    3. Battery Life-I have had it for a month and the battery indicator show 100% still.
    4. Flash Range-Got pictures out to about 40 ft. at night with no problem. Day pic. are clear with not one pic. blurry.
    5. Ease of Use-Very user friendly on the setup.
    6. Reliability-No problems so far, but if a object is really close 1ft. or closer it seems to not be able to get the picture.
    7. Case Quality-The case works but the plastic seems a bit weak. Will purchase the metal case for mine for no more than it cost.
Security Features-This area needs attention on the Excite.
    8. Customer Service-I have not had to call Customer Service at this time.

This is probably the worse game camera that I have ever purchased. I have had it nearly a year and after a trip back to the repair shop I still have not taken pictures with this camer. I will request my money back. Very disappointed.

Trigger speed not as good as they brag about. I still get alot of partials and misses. Battery life is the best in the business. I took over 700 pics on one set of batteries and still had juice! changed them only because I didn't want to miss any!

I bought my Cuddeback because my first digital (Recon Talon IR) was junk. The Cuddeback has great trigger speed and the picture quality is also very good. The battery life is not much better than terrible lasting two weeks whether it is -10 or 80 degrees. You may get 200 pictures off one set of batteries. It is reliable when it is in the field taking pictures of nearly every animal that walks infront of it. The housing/case on mine was chewed on by squirrels (yes they chewed a hole in it.) so it is currently in the shop having the case replaced for $35. Cuddeback also will hopefully address the poor battery life as they said they would. Overall I am happy with the camera has it is a step in the right direction and better than the other cameras (Recon, Stealth, Trailtimer) I have owned.

Battery life stinks. The battery contact plate on the bottom of the camera does not make contact and I have to put a wedge into it to make it contact. Bugs and ants make their home inside,(obviously not sealed tight)For $300 I wish I would have bought another Leaf River.

I have tried several digital scouting cameras. The Excite is my favorite. I have 2. They take great pictures. They have long battery life. I have 5 cameras setup in my woods. The Excite camera by far get the most pictures.

This is my second game camera (first is a Moultre) and so far the results are great. The first week of use I got 57 photos, several are a nice buck I suspected to be in the area. The quality is OK, the ease of setup is realy not that great and the mounting is OK. I used the screw and that made it easier but, if someone really wanted to steal it they can. The trigger speed is FAST and the flash range is at least 40 feet. So far it is great!!

    1. pictures are often blury.
    2. Battery life 2 weeks in 65-90 degrees.
    3.Flash doesn't work on 2 out of 5.
4.mounting to a tree is hard because you don't want the batteries to fall out( they usually do).
5.you cannot count on them to take a picture I watched a cow under my feeder and it didn't take a picture.
    6.case is not weatherproof.
    7.Customer Service? What customer service?
